SUNFLOWER PREPARATION
BEFORE PROCESSING INTO OIL AND CAKE
SHOULD PROVIDE:
- content of foreign impurities no more than 3%
- husk residue 8 … 12% (of the husk content in the raw material before the rolling mill)
MOISTURE OF THE RAW MATERIALS:
To optimize the pressing processes, sunflowers are dried immediately before processing.
Optimum moisture content of sunflower (for maximum oil yield): 7.5 … 8%.
Aspiration equipment is part of the main equipment of the raw material preparation department – for example:
- cleaning machines
- sieving machine
- aspirators
- aspiration systems
- roasters
There is no independent system, except for ducts that connect the main equipment with the aspiration one.
The air duct system is specified at the design stage.
Hourly air flow rates are determined in accordance with specific aspiration, cleaning equipment or other equipment included in the project.
Air temperature is not essential for such systems, and placement can vary according to the project.
